Megablast is now a FREE app for the iPhone!

Hello all,

It is coming to the end of the month and with that being said, our MEGABLAST iPhone app is now a FREE APP!

For those of you who haven’t heard of such a game, it is a retro/comical theme where a ship needs to shoot the balls that are coming at it. As simple as it sounds, there are asteroids and the death ball aiming to stop you from shooting these colourful spheres.

Not only this, it allows players to play up to 3 modes: Sprint, Arcade and Dodge!

The game consists of great graphics with up to 6 amazing levels. Connected to Apple’s Game Center so you can compete with others from around the world as well as receive achievements.

I’ve played this game so many times since I tested this game and let me say it is difficult to grasp at first but once you get used to it, it slowly becomes very addictive.

Thanks for reading and give it a try. Here is the link:

Stylish Sprint (iPhone App)

I was on the train with my iPhone and I bought a game called “Stylish Sprint” a while ago for 69p and thought I’d share my views about it.

This game is like “Dino Rush” but a better version! It is a 3D stick man where he runs through certain stages encountering many obstacles by jumping, dodging, punching and flying in many of the amazing visually graphical worlds.

The tutorial was great! It was easy since they give you a couple of scenarios to get the hang of the buttons…

They offer two types of modes: DASH and CHALLENGE.

In Dash, you run through and go through a bunch of obstacles. It starts off with slow running but as you go further, the faster he begins to run. You also spot some items along the way; wings, parachute, speed up and a few others. There are also some items that will try to bring you down.
The objective is to complete the quests that are given to you so you can unlock more stages.

Challenge is a whole new approach. The first one is where you dodge a pack of mines that are coming right at you and the stick man is on a hover board and he can move 3 spaces: Left, Right or Center. Obviously if you get hit, then you blow up and it ends the challenge.
The second challenge is where the stick man needs to run around and dodge some bouncing mines that rebounds off the walls. The game keeps going until you get hit by the mine.

My view is that the game is very addictive and completely suitable when you need a quick 3 minute break or heading down the underground. Can be so addictive that you can even miss your stop.
The graphics are great and can easily say it was completely worth 69p.

If you have the money to spare, try it!

Marmalade (Mobile app development tool)

Hello all,

The other day, I stumbled upon this tool where you can develop mobile apps in C++ and port it across iPhone, Android, Nokia and a few others. Not only this, you can develop on Windows or MAC!

If you’re interested in this, it is called MARMALADE (http://www.madewithmarmalade.com).

I tried this out and honestly, it is very well done! I spent about a few months just developing a few apps and here are my thoughts when using this tool:

Although I did not know much C++, all it required was a bit of knowledge in Programming generally. They provide a lot of preset code where you can input easily. The community on the website are very friendly and welcomes newbies.

One down side is that before, they allowed developers to release apps for free on the iPhone but now they require a payment. That was a big let down but they do allow users a 30 day trial period. Also, if you are developing on a Windows platform, you will require the MAC only to submit the app to the App Store.

Overall, I must say if you want to develop apps, this tool is a great one and pretty easy to use. Porting the app is just a few clicks of tick boxes!

Hope this post is useful for anyone…

Hello World! Introduction to myself…

This is the first time blogging in any blogs generally so for starters, I’d like to introduce myself and tell you about who I am and what I will be writing about in my blogs.

Firstly, I am a developer for a company called MamaGaming http://www.mamagaming.com. I’ve developed the entire backend and part of the frontend for the website and I keep up to date with it. Also, I have developed some iPhone games (2 free and 1 paid app) so check out the iPhone section on the website if you’re interested in my work http://www.mamagaming.com/mobileapps.

I want to blog as much as I can so that being said, I want to write about software, games, my programming adventures and technology.

Again, I am new to this so if there is any advice or anything, just message me because I would like to know more about this website.

Thanks for reading this post and I look forward to writing more posts in the future!
