A step in the RIGHT direction

So I’ve opened up Appcelerator’s Titanium (http://www.appcelerator.com) to do some quick development instead of creating apps from scratch… Good thing about this package is that I can develop using JavaScript! Try it out developers!! I’ve made some test applications in the past but never released any just yet but I will definitely keep you posted…
Also, I’ve had a look at GameSalad (http://www.gamesalad.com) which is an application that you do not need to code but just drag and drop onto objects to make them animate! This is fantastic for rapid developers so check that out also! I will be developing on these platforms since I have limited time to do these things…
Tomb Raider – My review
Tomb Raider – At the EB Games Expo, Sydney
Tomb Raider… The one game that I have been waiting for since their first announcement and sneak-peek of the game, I finally had the privilege to play the demo and see how the game is!
The game was absolutely phenomenal! It was really realistic, Lara Crofts actions and the way she speaks is just so fluent!
In this new Square Enix creation, there was a sense of feeling where it was emotional and struggle… To top it off, the camera views and reaction to what she sees or feels during gameplay made me know exactly how Lara was feeling. Games, from what I’ve tried, did not give me that experience which is why I feel this game has great potential and I am completely sold!
The demo was approximately 10 minutes of gameplay and got to explore the environment long enough to judge it.
Using the bow and arrow was pretty awesome. The longer you hold the button down, you can measure how hard and far you would like to shoot. I took down a deer! Not a pleasant view but Lara did say “Sorry” for me so all is well! 🙂
From all the positive notes I’ve written here, its clear as day that I will definitely go ahead and purchase this game!!
The game will be released on 05/03/2013 so get ready for this marvelous game!
Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale – Review
Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale – At the EB Games Expo, Sydney
Hmmmmm… Thoughts on the Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale huh? Let me think…
As I watch this game from a distance with 4 players competing to win the new slim Playstation 3, it felt like watching a replica of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros Brawl!
Being a fan of the Super Smash Bros series, I felt disgusted seeing this! The only difference is that they were Playstation characters and that was it! That was a big disappointment for me…
Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale did offer some characters that I would not even imagine being in this type of environment though. Papa the rapper vs Nathan Drake (Uncharted), that’s just unreal!
Overall? It’s nice to see all these characters all in one arena just fighting each other so I don’t disagree with the idea but maybe they could have come up with a unique way instead of ripping it off from Nintendo?? One thing is for certain…….. I wana play as Papa the Rapper!! 🙂
Release date is 21/11/2012! Look out for it…
Medal of Honor: WARFIGHTER – Review
Medal of Honor: WARFIGHTER – At the EB Games Expo, Sydney.
I was sent in to play this game along with 7 other individuals sitting all in one row. As we all put on our headphones together, the scenario was capture the flag – 4 vs 4.
Firstly, this was one of the first times playing with this kind of headset and it was remarkable! Usually, my choice is with earphones. Just hearing every footstep in the game was so precise and adds that extra realistic feel to the game. Sorry if I am late to the game but I will definitely consider investing in this!
Now, I am a huge fan of Battlefield 3 so please bare with me if I sound a tad bit disappointed…
The game was enjoyable and almost felt like Battlefield 3 however, the graphics was a bit off and felt like I was playing a gimmick. It probably just takes a little time to get used to but I always thought first impressions count and I know it is from the same developers and all but I feel like the game needs to be completely different from BF3 and not similar don’t you think? Just my opinion…
Jumping over walls, and the way how you grab the flag is pretty cool. You literally see the flag on the persons back. Very realistic indeed! Also, the animation at the end of each round is nice to look at.
To conclude, the game needs to be worked on a little bit just so that it gives me a reason to buy the game. Right now, I see Battlefield 3 as my game…
My Wii U Experience!
Let’s start off by giving my opinions on the long awaited, over hyped console, the Wii U.
As one of the many people who are looking forward the deployment of this amazing product, I must say it was a great bit of kit. The streaming of the game on the pad is a little blurry but the graphics on-screen is a touch better than its predecessor but this is my judgement when playing New Super Mario Bros. U so this is not my final conclusion to the console generally.
Speaking of New Super Mario Bros. U, this game is all you can expect. It brings the same concepts from all the previous games. From the demos provided, I didn’t find anything new! All I did was speed run through it all! 😀
Onto the Nintendoland, it was nice to have the pad giving the capability to swipe stars to the other screen. Aiming the pad to the screen created a cursor allowing me to see my current position of the pad. My arm did ache after several swipes but it was sensitive so it was satisfactory…
Now lets move onto the famous ZombiU.
This game was incredible. I say incredible because of the functionality but visually, I’d say it was a disappointment. Maybe it was due to the fact of me having high expectations but it felt to me like I was playing on the Wii again.
For functionality, you get the experience with two screens; inventory on the pad and a visual of the character checking in their bag. If a zombie comes during that point, you will see them on the screen and will have to exit the inventory screen to take him down! That is realistic don’t ya think?! 🙂
Overall?
As a whole, I think Nintendo have truly outdone themselves once again however, I do have my doubts and probably end up not purchasing it due to past experience. When I buy a console too early, the games are not fully developed to its full potential so I will wait until Nintendo or any other third party games sweeps me off my feet!
Other than that, if you have the money and you don’t mind which games are out, then go purchase it on the first day it releases and support Nintendo! They continuously keep impressing me with their products!
From that note, I’ll leave it there.
Next blog: Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, and a few other games!
